PhD Researcher of Big Data-Informed Urban Design

Yufan Miao is a PhD researcher in the Big Data-Informed Urban Design project at the Future Cities Laboratory in Singapore. His research concentrates on the study and the development of next generation urban design tools with augmented intelligence through cognitive computing for the analysis and synthesis of the spatial configuration and optimisation in the urban environment with the support of Big Data.

With his tools, more responsive and adequate interactions are expected between urban planners and the computers for a better understanding of  roles of each in the urban design process so as to improve the process with smart technology.
