2nd FUTURE CITIES LABORATORY conference TERRITORIAL ENCOUNTERS
Prof. Gerhard Schmitt, Director Singapore-ETH Centre during his talk “FUTURE CITIES LIFE CYCLE SIMULATION – FROM DESIGN TO MANAGEMENT” at the 2nd FUTURE CITIES LABORATORY conference TERRITORIAL ENCOUNTERS. The conference focused on the development, the evolution of concepts and strategies for new urban qualities for future cities (ETH Zurich, 10 and 11 September 2012).
The parking lot question
In general, a definition of "what is sustainable and for whom" is required. Faced with a problem as universal as global warming, how much sense does it make to try and fight it with measures as local as "less parking space in one new development"?
