Jonathan Williamson posted a great tutorial on Blendercookie on how to render interior architectural visualizations with Blender/Cycles. In addition you will get a basic understanding of the upcoming new BMesh modelling kernel, which makes Blender more interesting for architectural modelling. In short: N-Gons for a more clean tesselation (no ugly triangles anymore), J-Key to connect vertices, a dissolve function to delete vertices without edge/face loss, a new knife tool.
The new BMesh kernel will be included in the upcoming new Blender version, expected to be released in mid April. I didn’t find a build for Macs on Graphicall.org yet, so I built it. Download here (53MB).
